I know I am slack! I had good itentions ... I have taken pics of the layouts I have created recently but am yet to upload them?!
So ... woohoo for ....
* umbrellas - after a week or so of rain and drizzle an umbrella definitely comes in handy!
* kiddie cuddles
* a great comments from Finn's teacher at Parent/teacher interviews yesterday
On that last note - we had the last parent/teacher interview for Finn only a couple of weeks after he started. She highlighted a few areas where Finn was maybe not quite up to speed, like recognising numbers and colours (like I think I mentioned in an earlier post). But this was just Finn, at Kindy he would be the first out the door into the playground and sandpit, I very rarely got pictures or writing - he was just too busy playing. But now - WOW - the change in him over the last 4 months has been amazing! He is like a sponge and I am consistently amazed by some of the things he comes out with nowadays! Spelling words for me, reading basic words in the newspaper, roadsigns and books. I am soooo proud of him and whatsmore he loves school which is all good - long may it continue!
Hope everyone is surviving this wild weather. My Uncle and his family have just been evacuated tonight from their place in Torbay, fingers crossed this rain eases and their house is undamaged.

Woo Hoo Wednesday ...
... again!
Woo Hoo for
* school being back and getting back into a 'normal' routine
* payday
* warm fire to snuggle in front of on a cold drizzly day
Sorry for the short list today, one of those blah days ... well a couple actually. Got one of those slight cough, sore throat, cold and tired bodies at the mo. Kids had the bugs over the holidays and now hubby and I have it :( Having lots of early nights, but not much downtime though when you have little people to care for ... sigh. But enough of that, am feeling better today (small woo hoo here), at least I haven't got the persistent headache.
My magazine decluttering is going well, almost through my pile of old mags - amazing how much of the pages are filled with advertising! Just have to get a folder now, with file deividers and I will be all set and organised!
Off to cook tea now and chuck some more wood on the fire.
Keep warm!

Let the decluttering begin ...
So first it was Janine, then the program on TV 'The Big Stuff' and today it was the topic on Oprah. So not only the latest trends owls and cupcakes but there is also 'decluttering' - LOL!
Well I started my own - yesterday the storage cupboard in the hallway, the kitchen pantry, Emma's toybox and half my wardrobe ... still have that suitcase of old clothes to sort through!
The one thing I have picked up on is that when you buy something - you get rid/sell/giveaway something else. So this takes me to my huge pile of magazines! Have decided to keep only a small selection, all the others have to go ... but I am going to cut out all the pics that inspire me and put them into a folder. So that will be tonights job while watching tv ...
Put together a couple of layouts last night, just have to add titles, so will add photos soon. :)

Woo Hoo Wednesday!
Yes it's that time of the week again!
Woo Hoo for:
* toasty warm fires on foggy cloudy dull days
* being able to work flexible hours so I can spend more time with the kids over the holidays
* new cuttlebug embossing folders I managed to get my hands on this week
* new Core D'inations cardstock - when you sand, scrunch or tear it it shows a different colour, and such cool bright colours too!
* catching up with friends over the weekend and having them to stay
* being asked to do a layout for a sketch challenge site (go check it out here - think it gets posted today), below is a sneak peek ...
* making my own transparencies - see butterfly below

Have a great rest of the week!

WOO HOO!
OK seriously WOO Hooing today
- you might have guessed I got my computer back last night! It has been a very long few days without it!
- also my kids came home yesterday, we went to Invers for the weekend and left the kids down there with my parents. Mum had a great time with them and she brought them back up yesterday and has just left to go home today.
- I have the rest of the week off with the kids. With the kids away I worked Mon & Tues fulltime to get my hours out of the way for the week, now have 5 days off in a row and no plans, so lots of mornings mucking round in our pj's I think! LOL!
- the sun is shining! We have had some rough weather of late but today the sun is out and a beautiful winter blue sky. Making the most of it with washing outside.
So without further ado I am off to get some odd jobs done outside while the weather permits, and then might do some yummy baking with the kids! Then tonight will be catching up on blogs and the latest gossip on the forums!

Back again!
OK, so after being slack with the blogging I thought I'd drop in again today - surprise! LOL!
Forgot another couple of woo hoo's yesterday:
* woo hoo for Warehouse Stationery having 25% of Fiskars stuff - finally got me a new paper trimmer for only $20!
* woo hoo for KMart having 15% of scrapping stuff, hence a new Extra Large squeeze punch - a 2" circle now sitting on my scrap table :)
Now here is my go at this tidbit that is on most peoples blogs - has been great getting to know you all a little better :)
10 years ago - I was 24, had just graduated from uni and was studying for my professional exams, travelling to Auckland once a month to spend time with Marty whose job had been relocated (worked out great as we got engaged at the end of that year)
5 things to do today - done today - made lunches, work, made tea, washing, updating blog
- for tomorrow - groceries, cleaning day, Finn to hairdessers, blogging & scrapping (LOL!)
Snacks I enjoy - chocolate, bagel chips, hummus, red liquorice
Things I would do if I was a millioniare - BUY A CRICUT and all the catridges and all the other cool scrapping gear on my wish list! Then pay the mortgage, go on a huge holiday etc...
Places I have lived - Invercargill, Dunedin, Auckland, Birmingham UK, Mosgiel
Off now to finish watching Army Wives, then going to curl up in bed and read some more of Ali Edwards book :)

Woo Hoo Wednesday!
Yes I know I have been slack on the blog for the last week, but am checking in again for Woo Hoo Wednesday!
You know the day is going to be good when you see such a beautiful sky in the morning! Gorgeous purple and orange across the morning sky ... yes I know the wee ryhme - 'red sky at night shepherds delight, red sky in the morning shepherds warning'. But the weather wasn't actually that bad today, yes it was chilly but no snow showers like yesterday :)
Woo Hoo for
* buying the new CK mag and getting last months free (which I hadn't bought)
* yummy mixed berry muffin for lunch
* yummy warm flannette sheets on the bed on a snowy frosty night
* the inspiration I am getting reading Ali Edwards Life Artist book
I was catching up on Janines blog and read the story about her glory box. This reminded me of a bit of Ali's book that I was reading about looking at the treasures you have around you and recording the story behind them. So here is my glory box ...

I inherited this when I was about 17 years old from my Grandma. My grandparents were having a tidy up and Mum said that they were not to chuck this out and so paid for them to freight in down from Auckland to Invercargill. My Grandfather trained as a cabinet maker before following a life path with the Salvation Army, and he made this for my Grandma for her 21st birthday, she is now 82 years old. Sadly my Grandad passed away about 11 years ago so it is so special to have this treasure he made in my home.
Hope you are all snuggled up nice and warm wherever you are
:)
