Well, the week is now over, thanks Vicky for the challenge. It's been fun taking photos of the everyday stuff not just the special ocassions - and great to get some everyday shots for my Project 365 which I am happy to report is fully up to date.
Only 5 weeks now til the ScrapCamp down here in Dunners - looking forward to spending a whole weekend with some great friends who I have met through this crazy obsession called scrapping!
Have a happy weekend :)

Real Life - day 2 ...

A rainy day....

... and a new challenge.
Was blog hopping (as you do on a friday night at home) and came across Vicky's cool challenge to take a photo of 'real life' for a week. As I am trying to keep up to date with Project 365 I thought this would work as well. So here is my today, with some photos taken by the kids ...
A yummy afternoon tea of scones straight out of the oven, a cuppa and my puta!
Two crazy people!
Our fire on - yes it got that chilly this morning we decided to put it on.
And on cue a load of firewood arrived - will stack when the rain stops.

A couple of arty shots of the rain, Emma eating goodies after she arrives home from a friends 4th birthday party, and Finn with his cars.
Hope you all have been having a creative day on this wet weekend.
Just a short post tonight as have to go get ready for my cousins hen's night!
Keep warm :)

Movie Night Wednesday - The Girl with the Pearl Earring

Another Wednesday has been and gone ... Now this movie was ok I enjoyed it but didn't really capture my attention like The Duchess. But am glad I have now watched it, and ticked it off my list. Hubby is away on Friday and Saturday evenings helping out some friends so decided to get a couple more dvd's to watch on these nights. So have Under the Tuscan Sun (thanks Deb for that suggestion) and also have PS I Love you - thought this was very appropriate for Valentines night - LOL!
Have received my album refills and so have been slowly putting together my album ... here goes ...
Inside front cover - a pic of us taken at start of January

This is the start of photos ... downloaded cards from Becky's blog then opened them in Picasa and added the month to them (font is 'Downcome' one I downloaded from Jessica Sprague's course at the end of last year). Have decided against doing cards for 'the week of', just the month cards as seemed a bit easier. Numbers on photos added in Picasa (font is 'Diesel' also Jessica Sprague download). Am not cutting up individual journalling tabs, just leaving as 6x4 size as they slot straight in. Pretty basic really but didn't want to complicate matters as it would get to consuming to complete and then I'd end up not seeing the whole year through.
Notes for photos ..
Jan 1 - kids swimming and trying to keep cool
Jan 2 - our camp in Bannockburn
Jan 3 - Emma's birthday

Feb 1 - Feldwick gates at Queens Park in Invercargill
Feb 2 - my local supermarket - am even going to include the docket behind the journalling tab
Feb 3 - schools back!
So how is everyone else's Project 365 going?

Bit of a rainy day here today - wish I could bottle it up and send it to Victoria. My bro lives in Melb and said Saturday was just a crazy heat at 46.4degrees!!! My thoughts are with my cousin and her family at the moment - her husbands cousin lost her life along with her three children. So sad, so devastating ...

Movie Night Wednesday - The Duchess

OK so really should have put Movie Morning Thursday there - LOL! Had a friend come round for a catchup last night so didn't get chance to watch the dvd til this morning, still another few days before I get any work to do so enjoying my quiet time with kids back at school/kindy!
I loved this movie, something about the English history, those gorgeous costumes and locations - it was absolutely stunning! I am so intriged to know more about Georgina's life that I might just pop to the library this arvo and see what books they have. So if she was a Spencer does that mean she was related to Diana? I actually have a love of English history and I think this film may have just reignited this. I was lucky enough to visit numerous palaces and castles in the UK while living there, the most memorable would have to be visiting Althorp Estate - the family home of Diana, and the place where she is buried. After walking the gardens and seeing through the House I was served in the gift shop by Charles Spencer himself! He was very nice and I got him to sign a copy of his book on the history of Althorp.
So if you are yet to see this movie I would recommend it! I am now off to find that book and read further into the section on the family history.
Enjoy the long weekend!

PS just found the answer - yes Georgina was from the same Spencer family as Diana

Yes I have been scrapping ...

... so as promised here are some pics ...
Emma at her early birthday party in December ...
closeup of primas with kindy glitz, a bit of stitching and tulle ...
a tale of the 4+ attempts to blow out the relighting candles ...
and a layout about one photo too many - LOL!
So with 3 new layouts for Emma's album I feel it only fair now to do 3 for Finn's album. So over the next week I will endeavour to get out some of those latest pics and scrap a few boy layouts.
A quick update on last week - Movie Night Wednesday dvd choice was '27 dresses' - this movie was ok, a very light chick flick which was interrupted constantly by hubby! Note to self, probably best to postpone movie night next time he is around - LOL! This week I am hoping to get a copy of 'The Duchess', it is supposed to be released on Wednesday so will have to wait and see if my Video store has in it when I go in. Thanks to those that have given me some titles of dvd's to add to my list - keep the suggestions coming! :)
Was a bit quiet over last few days as headed to Invercargill to catch up with Mum and Dad. Headed down on Thursday, Emma was going to go to Kindy in the morning but ended up bringing her home after learning about 1/3 of the kids that were there on Wed had rung in sick with a vomiting bug, even one of the teachers had it too! So didn't take the risk of leaving her there, and with Finn home still it didn't really matter. Had 3 nights down there and although the weather didn't play nice it was a relaxing few days.
Project 365 - January photos all edited and printed. Have approx 4 months worth of journalling tabs now printed out and trimmed, just waiting on the album refills to arrive and will be all go! Am enjoying this and keeping tabs on what everyone else is doing too.
