SE sketch challenge

Just had to use that cool photo I had of the kids sitting on the pumpkins! So used the latest skecth challenge over at SE - and am pretty pleased with the result!
Pretty quiet weekend here in Mosgiel, a bit of scrapping, bit of shopping at the local garden shop, reading some magazines, and watching the old tv too. Very relaxing!!

Easter pics!

Hope you all had a relaxing Easter, catching up with family and friends, and enjoying the last of the nice warm days before that cooler weather starts setting in. We had a great few days away in Central Otago, and yes I managed to get my planned pic of the kids on those giant pumpkins! They weren't too keen to sit up on the wagon with the pumpkins, but happy enough to sit on this large pile!
A further shot of Finn to show you the size of the pile! They had one pumpkin there that had just weighed in at a whopping 205kgs!!!!
We also went for a drive to see some more giant food - this time the giant fruit at Cromwell!
And I just had to include this pic - the little stone church in Clyde where Marty and I were married 8 years and 16 days ago. I love stopping and taking more shots of it - love the stonework and the roses lining the path are always flowering beautifully at this time of year.
Hope you all enjoyed your chocolate eggs - hope they were Cadbury ones!! :)

Fluffies, butterflies and pumpkins

On Thursday Emma and I went to the museum after dropping Finn off at school. We had relatives over from Oz and had recommended they go and check out the new Tropical forest/Butterfly experience, and we decided to join them. We arrived a bit early so decided to have some morning tea before heading thru to the exhibits - so here is Emma enjoying her Fluffy! Am going to do a layout with this pic as have found the perfect alpha foam letter stickers - so keep watching! LOL!
Here is a pic of some of the butterflies having a bit of morning tea themselves! Amazing colours and hundreds of them flying round - very cool, if you get a chance it is well worth the visit.
This is a pic I took on the way to Queenstown last weekend. An orchard at Millers Flat just south of Roxbourgh always has the most amazingly huge pumkins. We are heading back thru to Central Otago for Easter so am planning on stopping here again and getting a pic of the kids sitting on this wagon too - well am hoping to, fingers crossed they co-operate!

Some more from last weekend ...

Okay, have finally gotten round to posting a few more pics of work done last weekend. A few I still want to add some bits to before posting.
This first one was a combined effort - I choose the photo and a couple of bits of paper and started scrapping then after 7 minutes had to pass it on. The next scrapper had 7 minutes then passed it on .... so in the end this layout was a combined effort of about 15 scrappers. Very cool result, I just have to add some journalling.
This is a cool photo I took of Emma at Christmas time - jounalling tallks about her being such a happy, giggly girl :) And here are a few pics of the scrapping area - whew won't like to be working out the $$$$$ of products lying on those tables! Think this was Saturday night and most of the group had gone down to the chalet for supper, so hence not many people in the pic, but don't worry everyone was back soo afterwards - I think the first person went to bed at 1am that night. No wonder I am feeling so tired this week, I have been trying to get to bed early but to no avail - hopefully will catch up on a few zzz's this weekend!

29 Days layout

So I did actually get something achieved while away on Scrap Camp in Qtown. Here is my double layout with photos I took for Janine's 29 day challenge for the month of February.
Will post more pics later as Blogger is having a hissy fit - this is the fourth attempt to upload a photo, and the first successful one.

What a FANTASTIC weekend!

Whew back from Queenstown, tired but man that was sooooooo much fun! I got up to Queenstown just after lunch on Friday to find my table area covered by Mrs Frizz - she had kindly saved me a space then covered it with her stuff! LOL! My crop buddies at the noisey end of the table are pictured below - Me, Tanya, Megan, Meg, Janine (Angel gurl) and Michelle (Mrs Frizz).
Please note our princess tiaras kindly made by Tanya, complete with bling! (secured in the hair with small bulldog clips - LOL!!!).
Tanya, Janine and Mrs Frizz were my roomies, well to clarify they were supposed to be! Need I say more???? :) 'snoring noises' - hehehe!
I managed to complete 11 layouts and a couple of off the page projects - will post some pics tomorrow. I also managed to complete a double layout for the 29 days photo challenge that I did in February - turned out pretty cool!
Lots of laughs were had, yummy truffles eaten (thanks Lou), yummy Tarimisu (thanks Michele) and lots of other food! Scrapped til 1am - ish on Saturday morning and then til just before 2am on Sunday morning - so needless to say I was pleased to have a big sleep last night, don't think even a train could have woken me, or Mrs Frizz's snoring!
Now trying to work out how I can make it to Mt Hutt for the camp that Tanya is organising! Think I might need to do some fast talking with dh :)!

My baby boy is 5 - well almost!

I know a few of you have probably been waiting to see the pics of Finn's party, so here goes .....

We had his last morning at Kindy on Tuesday, very cool time and no I didn't shed a tear - this surprised me as thought I would be a blubbering mess! LOL! They made this cool hat for him, he got to sit on the birthday chair and the traditional playdough birthday cake!

Then tuesday arvo we have some of Finn's kindy mates round for a pirate party - with a twist .... couldn't locate a dinghy but managed to get hold of a bouncy castle (borrowed from my BIL's friend) ... 7 kids managed to bounce away for 2 hours with a stop for food in the middle, thankfully nobody was sick after bouncing round on a full tummy - whew! And thankfully we had a nice arvo, since the weekend's full of rain it has been decidely chilly but yesterday turned out nice and sunny.

Here is Finn with his cake - a pirate ship complete with Little People pirates on top.
And here is my very tired little pirate at the end of a busy day :)

Tomorrow is the first offical day of school, he had his final 'visit' today and they went swimming which he loved, not that he can swim .... yet.
Uniform is all named, books purchased and named, my little boy is growing up .... sniff ....

On other important business (ie scrap retreat, LOL!) .... scrap gear is almost all sorted, photos almost all printed (last dash into town tomorrow to get some big prints done), have a couple of hours free in the arvo to get bag packed and car loaded. Heading away first thing on Friday ...... so will post again after the weekend! See ya! :)

Rain!

And lots of it! We have had something like 38.5mm of rain in the last 24 hours, and at certain times it has just been coming straight down and so heavy!
Needless to say our family bbq as an early celebration for Finn's birthday had to held inside today. But the 6 little kids behaved, and a great time was had by all. Have yet to download the photos, maybe next post.
Now a busy week ahead .... then a very cool weekend away! Can't wait!
